Denis Dermadi, PhD is a certified Depth Hypnosis Practitioner and Applied Shamanic Counselor, trained with Isa Gucciardi at the Foundation of the Sacred Stream. His practice also draws on Applied Buddhist Psychology and Daoist internal arts.
He holds a PhD in cancer genetics with specialization in immunology and computational biology and works as a scientist at UC Berkeley. His research is on how the brain and the body signal to each other through nervous, endocrine, and immune systems, and the stress that travels through all three. Systems with too many variables, too much noise, and no clean way to reduce them. Finding real structure in complexity is the aim.
The same holds when he works with clients. He tempers the materialist scientist in him with subtle energetic perceptions without simplifying what a person carries in order to make it easier to hold. Inner worlds are more complex still, intricate and sacred. Through contemplative traditions, biophysics, and neurobiology he studies those internal worlds and how we heal from trauma.
